Great Reasons That Will Show You Why You Shouldn’t Buy Instagram Followers

When you read that Instagram has over 600 million users, 400 million of whom log in every day, you can’t help but think about capitalizing on this enormous opportunity. Why not purchase Instagram followers, considering it’s the quickest way to gain traction?

After all, you can buy 1,000 followers for under $10, so why not? Instagram can help you increase eCommerce sales, raise brand awareness, and create a community around your brand or organization. It’s also as simple as paying a few bucks if you listen to the marketing of firms that encourage you to buy ig follower.

Is that true, though?

Millionaire models who make their living purely through Instagram make it seem simple. There has to be something in this for your business if they can charge tens of thousands of dollars for a single Instagram post.

I would never claim there isn’t a place for Instagram in your social media strategy, regardless of your sector.

When you purchase Instagram followers, though, you are not developing a cohesive approach. You’re a liar. Let’s look at six more reasons to accept this notion if the ethical one isn’t enough.

Consider this before spending $10, $20, or even $20 on a few thousand Instagram followers: how valuable can they be? Why would they be worth a few thousand dollars for your business if you only paid a few bucks for them?

Here are some reasons why purchasing Instagram followers is never a good idea:

Followers that are purchased are always irrelevant.

Do you have a skin care line in the United States? You may buy 20k Instagram followers from India, Bangladesh, and the Philippines, which is fantastic. You can even spend an extra $50 to buy US followers who are primarily bots and have nothing to do with your brand.

You can’t really comment on the quality of Instagram followers you buy for $10, can you? People who sell this type of service are well aware of this. They’ll fill your profile with a slew of new followers, but none of them will ever interact with your brand, let alone buy from you.

One of Idunn’s customers put such a service to the test (despite our adamant advice NOT to). They did get followers, but all of the likes were earned naturally. None of the followers bother to like, comment, or buy anything.

Is it possible to blame them?

Certainly not! They were completely unaware that they were following a new brand. And it’s safe to assume they didn’t like it.

Vanity metrics like the amount of followers or likes are one of the biggest social media blunders you can make. They have no bearing on your core business.

You won’t be able to enjoy them for long.

Bots, fraudulent, or empty accounts are commonly used by people who sell Instagram followers. Instagram will eventually close the majority of them. On average, I’ve seen that a purchased account loses 100 to 200 followers every day.

To put it another way, if you want your account to have 10k followers three months after purchasing them, you’ll have to pay for 20k.

Is this something you’d consider investing in?

You’ll Get a Lot of Spam

Not all Instagram followers purchased are accounts or bots. Some are genuine, but this isn’t always a good thing.

You see, some accounts will like any other profile just because it will help them obtain more visibility. Soon, you’ll see adverts on your account for sex toys or far-right political platforms. It will also be difficult to distinguish between which comments are relevant and which are spammy and maybe unlawful.

Because they will almost never be in your native tongue.

You may, of course, erase them. But are you available 24/7 to do so right away? Almost certainly not. You’ll understand what I mean when you consider that these people are in different time zones than you.

And it gets worse: once you’re in the “loop” of buying Instagram followers, the service provider will have access to your account and will be able to follow other people. They have your credentials, after all.

You’ll soon find yourself not just seeing irrelevant remarks, but also following a few radical accounts. Isn’t that a lovely thought?

Your rate of engagement will be quite low.

Why would your new followers bother enjoying your posts if they have nothing to do with your brand? They are uninterested in what you have to say or show.

Most people make the mistake of believing that if they get their brand in front of as many people as possible, everyone would adore it.

That is never correct!

Nobody will be a fan no matter how much money you spend on advertising or how many Instagram followers you acquire. That’s OK. In fact, it’s best to focus on those who have your consumer persona’s characteristics.

Don’t assume that because you have 20,000 Instagram followers, some of them will become true admirers. The chances of this happening are quite remote. Consider this: why would Pakistani males interact with your content if you promoted your US-based anti-aging skin care product for women?

People Are Aware

Many followers but little interaction? That’s the first indicator that something isn’t right. And this is how your clients and competition would know you bought Instagram followers rather than playing fairly.

Because today’s consumer is Internet-savvy, you can presume that at least some of your customers are familiar with digital marketing or have heard about the Lady Gaga incident.

And who can blame them if they refuse to do business with you after this?

In today’s “post-truth” world, fairness and openness are highly valued qualities. People have learned to take every item of information and content with a grain of salt. As a result, don’t offer them any reason to suspect you of criminal activity.

Instagram expressly prohibits the purchase of followers.

I realize that hardly one reads the terms of service any longer. I’m also aware that millions of accounts have grown in this manner, so you may believe it’s acceptable for you to do so as well.

It’s not true.

Even if you have no ethical issues, consider this: breaking Instagram’s guidelines can result in your account being canceled without warning and without recourse.

In the best-case scenario, Instagram will “purge” your account once they discover what you’ve done. This means you could lose as many as 80% of your followers. Even some of the “legitimate” ones.

Why not play by the rules?

Unlike Facebook ads, Instagram ads are still inexpensive. Spending $50 on advertisements and earning a few hundred real followers is preferable to purchasing 20k for the same price. When you buy Instagram followers, you’re not “improving the appearance of your profile.” You’re exposing it to a wide range of legal, social, and brand-related issues.
